Be seen or see: lights for the night

There are two types of bike light: those that help you see and those that let you be seen. We have them both.

The first type of light usually blinks red or white and is mounted in such a way so that motorists and other cyclists can see — and therefore avoid — you when the sun has passed beneath the horizon.

The second type of light is typically mounted to a helmet or handlebar to cast light forward to see what you’re up against. These technologically advanced lights are sometimes measured in lumens, take wattage into account, have sundry battery types and display light in different waves or patterns.
